• Developed a digital (Excel-based) version of the SLIPTA v3:2023 checklist with automated scoring and visualization.
• Designed and facilitated an online introductory workshop.
• Designed and delivered a five-day tailor-made training programme on laboratory quality management based on SLIPTA self-assessment outcomes.
• Provided remote technical assistance to 40 laboratories on LQMS implementation.

[December 2024] Over the past months, I've been working with the Philippines Department of Health's Office of Health Laboratories to train and guide 41 labs of the country's public health laboratory system on improving their quality management systems.

I completed this project for the Philippine Representative Office of the World Health Organization (WHO). We started by developing an electronic assessment tool based on the latest SLIPTA (Stepwise Laboratory Improvement Process Towards Accreditation) checklist. This allowed the labs to conduct self-assessments and identify their strengths and areas for improvement.

This formed the basis for in-person training where the participants developed customized plans to upgrade their quality management systems, which was followed by remote guidance to support the participants with improving their LQMS.

It's been great working closely with the Philippine lab experts and WHO PHL, and help strengthen laboratory operations to work towards accreditation.

• Conducted a desk review of documentation related to the Public Health Laboratory Network.
• Designed and delivered a two-day online training on the WHO Laboratory Assessment Tool (LAT).
• Provided mentoring on conducting a laboratory system assessment using the WHO LAT.
• Adapted the WHO System and Facility LAT questionnaires to the Philippine context.
• Delivered a three-day face-to-face training on laboratory facility assessments.
